HISTORY

Coast Surgical Group was formed in 1994 by the four founding members: Dr. Frank Hernandez, Dr. Nolan Johnson, Dr. Walt Fahlsing, and Dr. Mort Jorgensen. The group has since established itself as the largest general surgical group serving the South Bay of San Diego County with the addition of Dr. Hugo Barrera in 1997 and Dr. Stephen Summers in 2003.

Coast Surgical Group specializes in all aspects of general surgery including cancer surgery, abdominal surgery, surgery of the breast, hernia surgery, thyroid and parathyroid surgery, and advanced laparoscopic operations.

A new component of the practice will soon include bariatric surgery (obesity surgery).
